Two boards, both counting points scored since Monday. Everyone gets the same patient every day, so a school climbs by having more people play and by treating them better. Resets Monday morning.
The week runs Monday to Sunday. Both boards count the points you scored since Monday 00:00 UTC, and reset when the next one starts. A result counts on the day it was played and never afterwards, so nobody can fill in a week that has already gone. Days recovered from a browser you played on before signing up still feed your streak; they never feed this.
The people board is opt-in three times over. You have to switch it on, set a display name, and have a confirmed email. Off by default, and it always has been. It shows a name, a school and two numbers, and never an email or anything about a case you played.
Ranked on points, and the points are ours to work out. Your browser sends us what you did — which drugs, in what order, at which minute — and the score is calculated on our side by replaying it through the same physiology engine you played against. It is not a number your browser chose, which is what makes it worth ranking on. The players, days and median under each school are there because a huge score from two people is worth being able to see.
One person puts a school on the board. There is no minimum. Set your medical school on your account, confirm your email, play, and it is there.
What is public. The schools board shows each school’s name, its points, how many people played, the days played and its median score. The people board shows only students who opted in, by the display name they chose, with their school, points, days, median, streak and stars. Neither board ever shows an email address.
No school set on your account? Add it here and it is on the board the next time you play.
